So what you're saying is...that I need to pay better attention?

The other day I was in the kitchen, and it was pretty quiet, so I went to look at what Beck was doing. He had a pen in his hand, so I took it away, but it left its mark.

Don't mind the boogers. He has had a cold.

Blurry, but cute.

Dressing Up

I found this hat and thought it would be funny to put on him.

And again.

Matt got this sweatband, but we like it better when Beck's wearing it.

And again, but this time with his cape.

Self-explanatory.

Happy Seven Months!

I told Beck today that he is now closer to one than to being born. Weird. Well here are some shots from his seven month photo shoot.

This one seemed appropriate since he has had toppling pictures in the past. The difference? Now he can catch himself.

There's something funny about this picture. Is it because he looks like a fat old man? Something about that funny smile.

He didn't want to stand.

Falling! This one makes me laugh.

Dad, are you gonna let me fall this time?

I love me some socks. -Beck

Beck loves to pull off his socks and then try to eat them. The other day I walked back into the living room and saw a funny sight. (I'm always blogging about what I see after walking back into the living room.) I couldn't take a picture fast enough, so you're going to have to use your imagination and combine two pictures.

This:

and this:

And this is a video that kind of goes with these pictures, but the end shows that he's getting closer to crawling. Not much closer, but it's something. I'm okay with the lack of mobility. I also don't want to babyproof yet.

Six month checkup

Almost a month late.

Yesterday Beck went for his six month checkup even though he is about to be seven months on Saturday. When he got his shots, he luckily didn't cry/scream as much as the baby in the next room. Well, he didn't scream at all, but that baby WAILED. Here he is with his usual band-aid picture.

Stats:

Weight: 18.4 lbs - 50th percentile So WHY does everyone always comment on how huge he is? He's average. Ok, they are probably getting thrown off by the girth of his head.
Length: 26.6 inches - 36th percentile
Head: 18.1 inches - 92nd percentile Now his head is a common length for babies when they are born. Soon his head will catch up with his length.

Oh, and last night the shots really hit him, and he woke up at 4-something crying and wouldn't stop, so he came into bed with me and I think he slept...and I think I did, but I'm not sure. It was very off and on, so that has been fun...

Heart attack and face flattening

Beck has started sleeping on his stomach at night (and sometimes on his face). One day when he took a nap that lasted over two hours (not normal), I checked on him and he was kind of on his face, but not to the extent in this picture, and he was completely still. My heart stopped, I grabbed his shoulder, and he moved. My heart felt normal after about ten minutes.

I make baby food

So far we've only tried squash, and we have had to mix it with a lot of cereal for him to eat it. Oh, he did eat a little bit of mango last night, and he seemed to like that. Tomorrow we try pear.
